Javier Paz
Aite Group, Wealth Management, Senior Analyst.

Javier Paz is a senior analyst at Aite Group within the Wealth Management practice. In this role, Mr. Paz examines retail trading trends in business, regulations, and technology across asset classes. Areas of expertise include FX markets, active trader segmentation, front-end trading technology, and margin-trading regulations. His coverage of retail trading markets is global in nature, with particular emphasis on the United States, Japan, and emerging markets. He has also written about systemic risks facing global capital markets, such as asymmetric FX regimes and cross-asset class contagion. 

Mr. Paz has appeared on Reuters TV, and is regularly quoted by leading media outlets, including: the Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Bloomberg, New York Times, New York Post, Los Angeles Times, Telegraph (UK), Forbes, SmartMoney, Treasury & Risk, FX Week, Dow Jones Newswires, Euromoney, FX-MM, Wealth Briefing, and Wall Street & Technology. He has also served as a judge for the distinguished FX Week’s eFX Awards, and has been a keynote speaker and panelist for events organized by Recognia, Aite Group, Profit & Loss, FX Week, and e-Forex magazine.

Prior to Aite Group, Mr. Paz held management roles at retail FX broker Interbank FX and FX market research boutique Forex Datasource. He also worked for CSFB as a fixed income analyst and for FleetBoston Bank as a currency analyst. His experience with capital markets dates back to the late 1990s.

Mr. Paz is the author of 'The Forex Trading Manual' (McGraw-Hill) a book released October 2012, outlining the rise of currency trading globally and offering a prudent approach for retail investors to participate in Forex trading. He holds an M.B.A. from Brigham Young University and has held an NFA Series 3 license. Mr. Paz is a native Spanish speaker, and is near fluent in French and Portuguese.

BNP Paribas Securities (Japan), Fixed Income, Head of Electronic Markets - Japan.

Ian Williams heads up Electronic Markets at BNP Paribas Securities in Japan. His role covers the marketing of all FX and Rates products and focuses on the ever developing world of Electronic Trading. BNP are continuously evolving their electronic offerings and Ian is at the forefront of both product distribution and client on boarding in Japan and Asia

Prior to joining BNP Paribas he filled roles as Chairman of FXCM Japan Securities and CEO of ODL Japan. He spent over 20 years in banking on both sales and trading most notably at RBS where he held senior positions in both London and Tokyo. In London he was responsible for managing the JPY spot trading desk before moving to Tokyo in 2003 to establish a new Interbank Sales team with an emphasis on flow creation within the Japanese market.

David joined Equinix in July 2002 and is currently responsible for the Financial Services’ vertical for Equinix across the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to his current role at Equinix, David was the Managing Director of Equinix Japan for a period of seven years.

David has spent 20 years living and working in Asia and has focused his career on the development of businesses in the region.  

Prior to joining Equinix, Mr. Wilkinson served as President of CCC Network Systems K.K. for four and half years, where he led CCC’s entry into both the Japanese and Korean markets, providing infrastructure services and server farm management solutions primarily to data center operators, financial institutions, and large corporate institutions. Prior to CCC, Mr. Wilkinson worked for the Fujitsu Group for more than ten years, both inside and outside of Japan including his role as Vice President of Business Development for ICL Japan (a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu), which specialized in the introduction and promotion of European technologies into the Japanese market.

Mr. Wilkinson graduated from Glasgow University, United Kingdom, with a First Class Honours Degree in Computing Science, Physics, and Mathematics.

Ran Strauss is one of the original founders of Leverate and currently serves as Co-CEO. Mr. Strauss overlooks Leverate’s business and operational needs, and has extensive personal connections to Leverate’s clients and partners. Prior to Leverate, Mr. Strauss was a partner in DBS Global Investments Ltd., a trading room of Forex and futures transactions. He also has a background working as a system analyst and software development team leader at Matrix.  In addition to Mr. Strauss’ great admiration for the Forex industry’s strong potential and his extensive knowledge of the technology brokers need to thrive, he also loves journeying to exotic destinations and being around his family and friends.
